Davids has that "WOW factor"! The 100% recyclable aluminum tubing has a "retro-feel" that is incredibly appealing and a very rare thing indeed. When I received Davids package, I was surprised to see a metal tool of sorts inside. The tool is for rolling every drop of all-natural minty fresh toothpaste from the tube. Now that is what I call Eco friendly! And now, 10 lucky winners are going to get to try Davids premium natural toothpaste for free. Be prepared to get hooked! The tube is cute and Eco friendly, but does the toothpaste do the job?

Yes, it does. My mouth has never felt so fresh and clean. After nearly a week of use and lots of coffee drinking, my teeth are whiter then they have been in years. Compared to Tom's of Maine, I give Davids higher praise on taste, aesthetics, whitening, sustainability, and overall user experience. Davids is also cruelty free, 98% USA origin, fluoride free, and sulfate free. I am truly impressed with Davids premium natural toothpaste. Davids will change the way you look at your "all-natural" toothpaste!

Sugar Mint Coffee Scrub #beautyrecipe
Coffee is one of my all-time favorite ingredients for body scrubs! Coffee grinds are exfoliating and help temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. The caffeine in coffee stimulates blood flow, which can help with many undesirable skin problems such as cellulite, eczema, etc... Get more information about why coffee is good for our skin and the benefits of coffee scrubs via Frank Body's website in their "about" section. They have a really awesome interactive graphic, which also mentions that coffee has the same PH level as our skin. So that means, it will not leave our skin feeling zapped of moisture post-scrubbing. Besides, coffee just smells fantastic and feels good against our skin! Scrub away and enjoy the tingling effects of gopure naturals peppermint oil in this DIY beauty recipe for Mint Sugar Coffee Scrub!

Sugar Mint Coffee Scrub #beautyrecipe

1 cup Coffee grounds
1/2 cup Organic sugar cane
1 to 2 tbsp Epson salts(optional)

Mix all your dry ingredients together first. Then, infuse your peppermint oil with your gopure naturals fractionated coconut oil. Use glass containers to mix and store your sugar mint coffee scrub! Keep and store in the refrigerator for up to a month. It is that easy. In the picture above, you can see that I have additional gopure naturals oils. I did use gopure naturals Argan and Rosehip oil in my recipe for an additional moisturizing boost. These products are very high quality and great for at home DIY beauty projects, massage therapists, and skincare artisans. I wish that I knew about gopure naturals existence many moons ago and their amazing resourceful blog too! They have tons of informative articles! For example, I really like the article "10 powerful health benefits of Turmeric".

gopure naturals review & giveaway
The trio of candy-colored natural oils of Argan, Peppermint, and Rosehip oils are amazing! I am quite fond of the Peppermint oil. The Peppermint oil is something that awakens and invigorates the body and mind. I have been using it for cleaning by dabbing a small amount on a rag to wipe over counter-tops and frequently-used surfaces. The Peppermint oil is also perfect for the bathroom floors! Add a few drops to your cleaning water to have your floors naturally smelling minty fresh! I also have created some gopure naturals Coffee N' Mint DIY beauty concoctions that I will be revealing this week.

100% pure Fractionated Coconut oil how do I love thee?! I love using fractionated coconut oil for DIY  beauty projects, because it is a liquid at room temperature and also has a very stable shelf life. Fractionated coconut oil is also odorless and colorless, which makes it perfect for all-natural skincare creations and blending essential oils.

100% pure Cleopatra's Choice African Shea Butter is amazing! I love this product and this is something you cannot simply go and buy at your local natural health market. It is so smooth and creamy! The African Shea Butter makes perfect bath bombs and would make a super creamy body butter too! I cannot wait to make some body butter.

gopure naturals Youth Glow eye gel definitely lives up to its namesake. My eyes have chronic dark-circles underneath them. I have used the Youth Glow eye gel for two days now and I already noticed a remarkable "under eye" difference. Ingredients included are: proprietary peptide complex, vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, matrixyl 3000, plant stem cells, and vitamin e. The hyaluronic acid and matrixyl 3000 are essentially peptides that help reduce wrinkles and keep your skin looking "youthful". There are NO artificial ingredients and NO parabens in this product.

One lucky winner will win everything seen here including: the Argan oil, Rosehip oil, Peppermint oil, Fractionated Coconut oil, Youth Glow eye gel, and Cleopatra's Choice African Shea Butter!!! Please wait for the Rafflecopter to load...it takes just a second!

How to naturally restore a butcher's block
Thrifty Tip: Know the retail value of items you are looking to obtain. That way when you come across them at a thrift or antique store you know whether or not you are getting a "good deal".

The thrift stores and antique store in our local Leesburg, VA area are my favorite places to frequent. I find brand new clothing with tags, toys to entertain the boys, and you really never know what you might find. The boys and I call it, "treasure hunting". This week, we ventured into our local antique store and found this incredible butcher's block. I did a double take when the price tag said $29! There were plates stacked on top and I thought to myself, "there has to be something egregious wrong with it", but there wasn't. A few nicks and a minor stain is all I noticed. It looked to be in very good to excellent condition. A butcher's block of that size can easily sell for close to $200+ brand new.

How to naturally restore a butcher's block
How to clean and restore a butcher's block? First, take a very hot wet rag with some natural dish soap and scrub the surface thoroughly. Next, rinse the surface with hot water and pat dry. Take an all-natural vinegar-based cleaner and spray over the entire surface like Red's Gone Green all-purpose cleaner known as Clean Freak. Allow the vinegar-based cleaner to dry. Next, take your Organic Nutiva coconut oil and rub into the butcher's block with a clean/dry rag. After the coconut oil soaks in, you can take a cube of beeswax and gently wax the top. Buff to a sheen with a clean/dry rag. Repeat the same steps for the bottom of your butcher's block, except you can beeswax the bottom portion heavier to protect the surface that your butcher's block will be sitting on.

Tah-dah! I wish I had before and after photos, but I was way too giddy and excited! I wanted to get to work right away restoring this beauty that someone else erroneously valued at $29! That is why knowing the value of an item is so important. If the vendor had bothered to take 10 minutes to clean, protect, and shine this butcher's block she could have made $100+ more. Needless to say, I am glad she decided to take the lazy route! Stay tuned for more Eco-friendly reviews and giveaways...and more Eco living and lifestyle ideas! XO.

Red's Gone Green: A Clean Review & Giveaway
Lavender Freak Week is coming to a soothing end, but we are going out big...Texas BIG! Red's Gone Green is a proud Dallas, Texas all-natural cleaning company that utilizes simple ingredients that get the job done. Red herself sent me her Green Clean Club box which includes three products delivered monthly for $38 + shipping. Because it is Lavender Freak Week, I received Red's lavender + vanilla all-purpose cleaner known as Clean Freak, Everything + The Kitchen Sink cleaner and scrub, and Sweet Dreams lavender pillow spray. The combination of lavender and vanilla is a classic combination that is incredibly relaxing. Remember to squirt a few extra sprays on the counter tops while the kids are trying to kill each other in the adjacent room(figuratively, of course). No need for benadryl or wine, you can simply use your Sweet Dreams lavender spray all over the house for a calming effect. Good move Mom...good move.

Red's Gone Green: A Clean Review & Giveaway
Let' s talk about the all-purpose cleaner Clean Freak first, because it was my favorite! Scent is really important to me with an essential oil product and the lavender really comes through! Clean Freak is not tested on animals and utilizes simple, yet effective ingredients(like distilled white vinegar). You can flip the bottle around on any product and understand that each ingredient is truly natural. If you have children, animals, and even just yourself there is no need for chemicals. Red's products are safe and effective! Oh, I almost forgot to tell you how much I love the scent on the lavender + vanilla Clean Freak all-purpose cleaner. The lavender + vanilla scent is well balanced and you really want to clean the whole house with it just so you can smell the delectable smell!

Everything + the Kitchen Sink is a scrub, deodorizer, and cleanser. It has that baking soda base with a bit of grit that is perfect for removing soap scum buildup off of your tub and tiles. I also use it for a toilet deodorizer and to scrub the kitchen sink out. The baking soda helps remove stains and deodorizes. The scent is lavender + vanilla too, but the lavender is really strong and it was hard to smell the vanilla coming through. With two boys and a German Shepherd, I will go through this container in no time! This is a true all-purpose product. Use Everything + the Kitchen Sink to deodorize fabrics, in your laundry, and to clean your dishes. I love myself a good multipurpose product!

Red's Gone Green: A Clean Review & Giveaway
Finally, we have Sweet Dreams pillow spray in lavender. I am chronically running around the house at bedtime misting the air with lavender to calm the vibes of two bouncing boys. I love the strong lavender scent of Sweet Dreams and it really is perfect for spraying pillows or linens to help calm the atmosphere. I would also recommend this Red's Sweet Dreams pillow spray for travel. Motels do not always smell the best and this little bottle will always allow you to breathe easy.

How to store and dry lavender #lavenderfreakweek
Lavender freak week is picking up steam! Today, we are going to talk about how to dry and store your freshly dried lavender buds. This post is going to be surprisingly short, because drying out and storing your fresh dried lavender is pretty easy stuff! The most important tips are to cut your lavender at its peak, which is just before blooming and when the lavender buds are a very bright purple. I have some white lavender too and for harvesting purposes I go by blooming. Once one or two lavender buds start to bloom, I go out and harvest my lavender.

How to store and dry lavender #lavenderfreakweek
When to harvest? Harvest your lavender in the early morning or evening when temperatures are at their coolest. Again, cut your lavender at its peak, which is just before blooming and when the lavender buds are a very bright purple. Cut your lavender just above the hardwood portion, which is located at the base of your lavender plant. Be sure to never cut into the "hardwood" area. That will kill your plant. The softwood portion is where you cut, which is close to the base of the plant and just above the hardwood.

How to dry out your lavender? Take small bunch of 10 to 12 lavender stems and tie with a string. Hang your bunch of lavender in a cool and dry area with plenty of air circulation. See my YouTube video below for more direction.

When to jar your lavender? In two to three weeks, check on your drying lavender buds. The tie around your lavender should be loose and perhaps a few lavender buds have fallen to the ground. I do the "snap test" to ensure my lavender is dry enough for transplant into a container. I take a lavender stem and break off the lavender bud. If it "snaps" then your lavender bunch is ready for the jar. If not, just leave your lavender bunch hanging and reassess in another week or so.

What to store your lavender in? You know, I am a sucker for tiny Spanish glass jars. I like tiny jars, because if somehow a lavender bud did not properly it can produce mold. A tiny jar means only a few lavender buds got ruined and not your entire Summer crop. All glass container is best. I enjoy pretty corked glass jars, but your standard Ball Jars will do just fine as well.

Oh So Good Organics #lavenderfreakweek
Welcome to positive home town vibes. Oh So Good Organics is my very favorite soap maker in history and she resides right here in Northern Virginia. I am not being overly dramatic when I say, "Oh So Good Organics is one of the best soap makers in the business." If you are a regular stache stalker, then you know I review many Organic and all-natural soaps. That is one bold and coveted statement I just made, but alas it is 100% truth! I purchase and use her products regularly. In fact, I cannot wait to get my hands on her exotic ylang-ylang charcoal soap that is currently curing. Don't you all even think about it! I am getting the first bar. I have been waiting for weeks so I deserve the first bar. I will cut someone.

Oh So Good Organics #lavenderfreakweek
My addiction has grown deeper from her soaps into her lavender soy candles. Now, I normally do not purchase essential oil candles, because I feel like the scent is not strong enough to warrant a $20+ purchase. However, Jennifer Naqvi(the owner and modern Organic soapstress) has the scent spot on. Even when the lavender soy candle is outdoors, you can smell the lavender scent wafting several feet away. That is pretty incredible! It is also wonderfully clean burning and burns for up to 40 hours. Oh, but wait there's more...

Oh So Good Organics #lavenderfreakweek
Body buttas! Yes, delectable body butters. Essential oils of sweet orange or lavender! Shea butter, cocoa butter, and safflower oils infused with the goodness of skin healing herbs such as calendula. Aesthetically-appealing and WAY perfect for Summer. Okay beauties, I am going to giveaway an Organic lavender soap bar from Oh So Good Organics in honor of lavender freak week. Ready my little lavender freaks? Enter below. Xo.

*Sidenotes: Taffy Floral is the amazing floral stylist seen in the first photo. Do you live in DC? Visit Nomad Yard Collective to purchase your Oh So Good Organics products in the flesh. I am purchasing and shipping this product myself. That is how much I love Oh So Good Organics!

Fresh Lavender Lemonade Recipe #lavenderfreakweek
Ahhhhh, the smell of wafting lavender in the summertime! Lavender is without a doubt my very favorite scent and plant of all times. It has incredible relaxing, soothing, and healing properties. I use lavender for a plethora of DIY beauty recipes, floral arrangements, dried lavender, satchels, etc... But this year, I have decided to experiment with lavender in a whole new way. I want to use lavender for culinary purposes. Perhaps a drink is a bit of a cop-out, but I decided that lavender and lemonade would make for an awesome coupling. Herbal, floral, and zesty together at your next summer party! Sound good? Go make some right now for your family and friends! Keep going, I promise the recipe is below.

Fresh Lavender Lemonade Recipe #lavenderfreakweek
Word of floral caution. I made a huge tankard of lavender lemonade. If you are making a small container start with 10 to 20 lavender buds and go from there. Too many lavender buds will probably make your lemonade taste like perfume, which is not very appealing. I used 20 buds, but I really wish I had used more. The best part about this recipe? It is easy and you can do it the night before a big party. The contrast of the bright purple lavender and the lemons are visually stunning!

Fresh Lavender Lemonade Recipe #lavenderfreakweek
Ready to make some lavender lemonade? Simply follow the recipe above. It is your prerogative whether to soak the lavender separately with the lemon juice or to simply mix everything together. Next time,  I might opt to throw caution to the wind as well and just dump the lavender right into the serving container. If you are making a large tank of lemonade, go with a minimum of 40 lavender buds. If you are happy with the taste in the AM, you can fish out most of the lavender buds. If you leave them soak, the lavender flavor will intensify. Be sure to leave a few lavender buds floating with the lemons simply for the "pretty factor".

Pinkies up! Serve your lemonade with a sprig of fresh lavender and slice of lemon. This will help enhance the aroma and overall experience of your guests. For you visual folks, be sure to check out the full YouTube video(look up) on how to make fresh lavender lemonade!

Feeling adventurous? Try using lavender in your other culinary creations. Drinks and baked goods seem like a great starting point. Lavender shortbread cookies and lemon lavender pound cake are high on my "To-Do" list. However, I also heard that you can use lavender in place of rosemary. I happen to abhor Miss Rosemary....so I like the idea of lavender as an alternative. Stay tuned my friends for the continuation of lavender freak week! I warn you, it could turn into an entire month. I will be exploring lavender DIY projects, recipes, and awesome lavender product reviews. Let lavender freak week begin!
